NewCruiser10 Posted July 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2011 Can anyone suggest activities for a multigenerational group going to seven mile beach? Do they have water sports for the younger generation? Do they have shade for the non-sun worshippers? Please help us decide if this is for us. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated
bookbabe Posted July 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2011 Any idea where on Seven Mile Beach you're going? It's 5+ miles of beach, and every section has slightly different facilities/characteristics... :D It might be easier if you listed what stuff you need from your beach day, and then we could suggest which section most closely matches your needs... NewCruiser10 Posted July 21, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted July 21, 2011 Thanks for the quick reply Bookbabe! I am not familiar with any of the beaches on 7 mile. We are looking for several things. 1. An area to keep two 19 year old boys active with parasailing and jet skis. 2. Possibly snorkling. 3. Ability to sit in a shaded area. Any insights or information you have would be greatly appreciated!
bookbabe Posted July 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2011 Your best areas of SMB are likely to be Royal Palms, Sea Grape or Tiki Beach. A taxi from the port to these sections is about $4-6 pp each way. The snorkeling is only mediocre, but they have excellent free facilities, a restaurant/beach bar, and rental chairs/umbrellas/watersports. Royal Palms also has a pool, and their website has webcams so you can check the place out in advance - http://www.reefgrill.net If part of the group still wants to snorkel after you're done at the beach, there is good snorkeling available about a 5-10 minute walk to the right of the port area, at Eden Rock. There's no beach there, but there is a restaurant where the non-snorkelers could have a drink in the shade while they wait, or much of the downtown shopping is right across the street.
