I found it a bit chilly- pack a sweater. At times I had to go outside to warm up!

I love it cold!

I keep my hotel room while traveling like a meat locker...

I will have to tell my partner to bring warmer clothes....he always freezes around me :D

I have not been on the Splendor but noticed it is the only ship in that class. Is there a reason they didn't build more?

Carnival took it over from Costa Cruises it was being built for Costa a Carnival Corporation company

How are the bathrooms in these things...they look so tiny in the pictures. I'm 6' 210 broad shoulders...I bet showering will be fun!

My DF is tall & broad shouldered. He manages just fine. You can always go shower @ the spa...they have nice showers there:)

We had a balcony the first time and it was a nice cabin. We are booked again for next Feb. 12th. We go on a cruise every Valentine's...and have an aft wrap for the next one on the Splendor. As you could see by Mach's pics, there are a lot of great photo ops. Lots of fun colors, patterns & statues. The steakhouse was fabulous...We eat in it on Valentine's.

Yes, it is $30.00 pp..but, well worth it for a special occassion. The food & the service is fabulous. You can make reservations through Carnival.com Unless, you have a large party or a specific date & time...you don't need to make them before you get on board, but as i said...you can. Splurge & enjoy:)

You guys are so helpful :)

I'm super excited to go on her...wish it was tomorrow!

Mach - Great pics!!!

The pink doesn't really bother me...unless the toilet is pink...then I might have an issue with it :D

Definitely a lot of food places that we have to hit up...is the rotisserie free?

Yes the Rotisserie is free. my DH is 6'1 240 lbs and my kids are over 6 ft as well and they had no problems in the shower.

Great...maybe the pictures are just deceiving.

I don't like to be all cramped up while trying to enjoy a shower. :D

I love LOVE LOVE the Splendor. Sometimes I did get a little turned around getting from one place to another, but it's not like a few extra steps killed me. The one thing I didn't enjoy was the big screen by the pool during the day. Not a huge deal though, I just went to another area.

About the bathrooms, they aren't giant, but plenty big enough. We had 4 adults sharing an inside room, and the bathroom and never had an issue. BF is 6', broad shouldered and more than 200 lbs and had no problem with the shower size.

Carnival did good at designing the cabins to make the most of that tiny square footage you get.

I've seen a lot of good/bad review on the TV in the pool area...guess I'll have to see when I get there...if it ever comes!

The hull was originally slated to be a Costa Concordia Class ship but Carnival needed the berths more than Costa did so they got the hull and it became the Splendor...

It's really not that big of a deal. During the daytime they will run the cruise director's morning show on it. They used to show CNN but John Heald put a stop to that (thank God...) and now it's just scenes from Carnival's ports of call... beaches... underwater scenes and such. In the evening movies are shown... the early ones are family and the later ones are a bit more adult. I recall seeing Casino Royal on board...

DH and I sailed the Splendor in June and had a wonderful time; the staff was fantastic! The adult only pool was great, mdr good, public areas were nice. The lobby was to pink, way overdone for my taste, but not a dealbreaker. It was cold, sometimes I would carry a windbreaker with me, couldn't get acclimated. Cabin was nice, Carnival makes use of every inch for storage without it feeling crowded. can't wait to go again...
