Luggage Valet

Recommended Posts

Can someone who has used the Luggage Valet service tell me how it works? Mainly the process etc.... I understand the cruise line issues your boarding passes and luggage claim tickets, but just trying to understand the dynamics..

It seems like it would be wonderful to not have to mess with your luggage after getting off the ship...

Thanks in advance~!

We used the luggage valet on our Freedom of the Seas cruise in May. It's a great convenience for the $20/person you pay. Basically, you sign up for it onboard, and it's charged to your Seapass card, along with any baggage charges from the airline. Leave your luggage outside your room the evening before disembarkation, and the next time you see your luggage is on the conveyor belt at the airport of your final destination.

That being said, certain criteria apply:

1) It has to be offered in your cruise port - lsit available on the RCCL site

2) It can only be used for certain airlines - list available on the RCCL site

3) You must have a flight departing after a certain time - it's different for different ports

Hope this helps...

We have used it many times when available..Instructions, luggage tags and your boarding passes are left in your cabin by your room steward on the last night. Leave your luggage outside your cabin door and you don't see it again until you claim it at your arrival airport..The $20.00pp is a great deal..Just make sure you sign up for it as there will be a deadline once onboard...

This service is AWESOME. Just used it last week on Radiance and it went perfectly! $20/pp well spent. As long as your port, airline, and flight time qualify, you should be fine.

A note of caution from our experience: We received a sheet of paper with the luggage valet instructions, along with a half-page form to fill out for general baggage information. The half-page was NOT the luggage valet application; the actual luggage valet application was on the BACK of the instructions. So just make sure you fill that out and turn it in. My parents filled out only the half-page and thought they were done. Days later, when they realized what had happened, they were very disappointed to have missed out on the luggage valet.

Used it on the Allure on the June 26th cruise and it was excellent!! One bag was over weight and never heard a thing about a charge! Bags were on the conveyor when we got off the plane in NYC. Excellent service!!!
