Best glacier for helicopter tour

What glacier would you recommend for a helicopter tour? And which vendor?

We did a ship excursion in Juneau to Mendenhall and Temsco was the vendor. It was great. Of course a clear sunny day helped!

I did the same excursion as the previous poster. Not only was it good but it was on the lower end of the cost spectrum.

There is one vendor in Skagway, TEMSCO, and I belive 3 in Juneau. IMHO they are all equally good, TEMSCO seems to be the most expensive of them all, their facilities in Skagway was first class. I personally don't think there is much of a difference between the three.

 

The biggest decision is are you doing just the glacier landing, landing+dog sled, or trekking.

There are 4 helicopter vendors who do tours in Juneau.

I have flown with three of them. It makes absolutely NO difference where you land and each vendor, is long standing, running excellent tours. Pick the one who fits your time and budget best.

I don't know if you are also going to Denali. We used a coupon out of Toursaver and went with Era Aviation - just outside the park entrance- and had a fabulous flight and glacier landing. The pilot even took scads of photos of us with various backgrounds while on the glacier. Worth every penny!
