Meet & mingle?

The roll call for our upcoming cruise is holding steady at 20 people signed up for the meet & mingle. Is there any chance AZ will hold it anyway? If not, has anyone ever done one on their own, and if so, do you have suggestions on how or where?

Hi perlgirlnj

Azamara takes special interest in the opinions of Cruise Critic Members.

You may get an automated e-mail message saying that you have not met the minimum requirement for attendance but the Meet & Mingle will be held anyway.

Enjoy and have a great cruise.

Hi Perlgirlnj !

The odds are excellent Azamara will offer it. One item of note - On our sailing, the Meet & Mingle was held on the first evening of the Cruise, so I suggest asking Guest relations as soon as you board the ship. There was an invitation in our Cabin, which made the process easy.

As Bandt said, Azamara is very interested in Cruise Critic feedback from their Onboard guests, and they do a great job organizing the event. You will likely find the Meet & Mingle well attended by many of the Ships Officers. On our sailing, even the Captain (Captain Tysse) attended.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your Cruise !

We went on Azamara Quest for a five night cruise on June this year. We were not able to register for a meet & mingle as voyage was less then 7 nights. However we did notice that listed in Pursuits( the daily newsletter) there was a Cruise critic party just after sailaway.

We went along and were treated to drinks and canapes. Many senior staff and the CD were in attendance and when we expressed surprise that they hosted a party on the short cruise we were told that they always host one as they like to meet the guests and value our opinions.

Such a shame that there were only 4 people attending, however we were royally treated. It was so nice that the rest of the cruise we were greeted by name by the CD, Hotel manager and others, made us feel special.

So make one of the first jobs a thorough read of the Pursuits. :) See you all at meet and mingle on the next cruise :D

If you do not meet the 25 you will get the official email telling you there will not be an event however look in your Daily Pursuits/check with Guest Relations as they run one if not two. On our cruise the first was on Day 1 a sea day mid morning with champagne, lovely nibbles etc. At that they asked would we like to come back again at the end for a kind of feedback session and we said yes. This was on the last day at sea again in the morning, and coffees were served. What was great was the way that the Hotel Director, Captain, Head of Housekeeping, Cruise Director and F and B manager all attended and not only listened to feedback but posed other questions to check out on other things they had heard or wanted to test for the future.

And that evening, one of the things they said they would do re a band had already been put into action

You really feel the onboard team value these events almost more than we do!!

We are at 20 also for our Journey cruise next month. I didn't realise they may organise one for us anyway. That would be great.

Yes, even if you don't make the 25 there will be one anyway - look out for it in the dailies. It seem that ACC really do value what the CC peeps say! And they usually hold another one at the end of the cruise so they can get your feedback too.

For our cruise last year it took forever to get to the magic 25. We had two events planned during our 12 day sailing. Capt. Thyss attended both along with his senior staff. There could not have been a more gracious crew.

For all of the cruises we have taken over the last 6 years or so we have planned a sail away for our fellow cruise critic posters. It is a casual gathering usually held at the Lido bar since so many want to be on deck as we pull away. The only time it was a total bust was on a HAL cruise when two totally nasty dirty people showed up and those of us who were already there pretended to be in a private group. I know that wasn't nice but if I could post a picture of the pair you'd avoid them too. There was no Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle hosted by HAL so we planned out own.

Planning your own get together can start on your Roll Call. On a Med cruise and an Alaska sailing we had at least 60 to over 100 who joined the sail away. It was great fun after so many months of active roll calls. Both sailings were on Celebrity M class ships so we also had the ship sponsored CC event.

It's not so easy on the Azamara roll calls since there are so few participating but the staff will go out of their way to get you'll together. Do attend and enjoy.
