kbmeow Posted August 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I have never done a tender port before. So we are doing a carnival excursion. It starts at 9:30 I assume that is from the pier not the time to be on the tender? How long is the tender ride?
*Mach* Posted August 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Yep... from the pier. You're not on the tender more than about three minutes once it leaves the ship. You'll spend more time waiting for everyone to board than you will in transit. Since you're booked with Carnival for your excursion you can be one of the earliest off the ship... :)
elcuchio24 Posted August 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2011 If it is a ship excursion you usually all meet for the excursion in a lounge and go down together to one of the earlier tenders.
kbmeow Posted August 11, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted August 11, 2011 TY. Well the ship docks at 8 and the excursion starts at 9:30 so there is some time. I just wanted to have a idea of what we were doing. Another question though. We are doing a snokel excursion and are going on a boat to do it. When we go in the water how do we keep our valuables safe. I plan on having our id's , sign and sail. A credit card and a little cash. Should I make my husband carry it? Will it be safe is a bag. We are leaving our rings on board the ship. I have heard horror stories or friends who went into the ocean and off wen the wedding band. Ours were my parents and are not replaceable. LBumb Posted August 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2011 if you don't have excursion, wait a bit as lines will die down.

You can usually leave your valuables on the snorkel boat with no trouble. If you are worried about it, get one of those little waterproof boxes you wear around your neck, we have done that often. They usually have them in the ship giftshop, or pretty much at any junkstand in the Carrib.
truchattycathy Posted August 11, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I have always left mine on the boat in my backpack. I am sure others would gasp, but I have never had a problem. As you posted, just a little cash and credit card can be cancelled. Have a great cruise!
evandbob Posted August 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Never had a problem leaving belongings on a snorkel boat or in a van on an excursion. If there is a worry, it might be more from the other PAX than the excursion staff.
marshhawk Posted August 11, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2011 And no problem checking your bag, when you get back on the boat. That way if something is gone then everyone can be checked out before you get off. Salt water cleans my rings. But there is no big rock in them.:)
nanuak Posted August 11, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I don't take off my jewelry in Grand Cayman. Jamaica and Cozumel, I leave everything in the safe. Grand Cayman is one of my favorite ports . We have left money, credit cards, passports, etc. on the boat while snorkeling. I'm not saying that I place these in full view of the other passengers, but I have never really worried about being ripped off.
