If you don't make it obvious, they will leave it alone. We've rolled bottles in our clothes in carryon. At the ports they are strict, and will hold alcohol until the final night. Wine is never a problem.

Passengers are also permitted to consume the wine and/or champagne in the privacy of their stateroom only, but it may not be brought into any public lounge for consumption.

There are literally hundreds of threads here on alcohol smuggling. Your bags go through the scanner as you board and any alcohol will be confiscated. You may bring wine and champagne onboard.

We have sailed Princess many times and have never had a problem carrying wine on or other stuff in our checked luggage. This is consumed in our room especially on the balcony and some is taken home with us.

 

Only once have we had anything taken away at a port(out of how many port stops?), it was actually coming home with us so it was nice not having to look for a place to stash it in our cramped inside room.

thanks for all the info i just whant to have some wine in the room to enjoy on the deck so i'll pick some up in san juan before boarding

Wine is not a problem but hard liquor is not permitted (if you get caught). If you want to take your wine to the dining room you would have to pay a corkage fee.
