firefly333 Posted August 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2011 You will need to contact a outside company, the cruiselines dont rent scooters. they do have some wheelchairs on board, which you can put down a deposit on a first come first serve basis .. but no scooters. RentCharlie and RentItToday both are DOT com. You will also need to have at the least a modified HC stateroom. The scooter will need to be able to fit through the door. You cannot keep it in the walkway for safety reasons. I'm not sure about Baltimore area however 2 years ago in Orlando for 5 days the cost was $125. We had rented 1 for our WDW trip for my DH. kitty9 Posted August 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2011 Two companies rent mobility scooters for cruises. They are CareVacations and Special Needs at Sea. You must have an accessible cabin, or a large suite because many scooters will not fit through a regular cabin door, and you cannot leave scooters in hallways. You have to see what company is approved for your cruise line. You can't rent from any place other than approved companies. Depending on where your departure port is, the cost to rent is anywhere from $195 to $225 for a week.

Of course, you are free to select your own provider. Please know that Carnival Cruise Lines does not endorse specific service providers. Consequently, you assume risk of utilizing these third party services and are subject to their terms and agreements. Refund issues must be handled directly the service provider as well as any other implications that may arise regarding your rental.

Carnival is different than other lines because, for instance, Princess/RCI/NCL and others, you can only deal with approved vendors. I've rented scooters for cruises on those other lines, and they will only allow rentals from either of those two companies if you rent from some place else, they won't allow the item to be delivered. Another thing to take into consideration, even for Carnival, the company must be able get through security. Not all companies will be able to gain access to the port.
