Noooo, not sure how far away it is but I remember it was way beyond walking distance. We saw hell as part of a tour that also took us past 7 mile beach & to the turtle farm. MMastell Posted August 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Sure you can. But don't expect to make it back, or even get there, by the time the last tender leaves. ;) You will need to take a taxi if you want to see Hell. FWIW: To me Hell was very underwhelming. Take care, Mike
MFJLady Posted August 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2011 It is a good way to Hell...wouldn't try walking.! It really doesn't take long to see this either. It was interesting to see the rocks...but that is about all....wouldn't want to go back! JMO! :)
luvtrips Posted August 22, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2011 We rented a jeep in Grand Caymen. Had our two kids, 9 and 15 years, with us. We drove to Hell, and the turtle farm. We explored the beaches on our own. It was just wonderful. Hell wasn't a big deal, but enjoyable , and we all loved the turtle farm. We're returning to GC this winter, but I think we'll skip Hell this time.

bobnsons Posted August 24, 2011 #12 Share Posted August 24, 2011 anyone have any idea what a taxi to hell and back would cost I think you should look at the bus thread for the Cayman Islands. http://www.grandcayman4u.com/transport/buses.htm
NOLALADY Posted August 30, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 30, 2011 We took the public bus, very inexpensive and so NOT worth the time ... :(
SLmom Posted September 1, 2011 #14 Share Posted September 1, 2011 Hell isn't even worth a stop on a tour in my opinion. It's just a convenience store with T-shirts and postcards with Hell on them.
lovevacadays Posted September 3, 2011 #15 Share Posted September 3, 2011 have taxi wait for you. you will want to leave after five minutes. I agree. Not what it's cracked up to be. Was there in 1997 and 2009. At least in 1997 the gift shop was alot better than it is now. Back then it wasn't just a t-shirt joint.
ibcnusoon Posted September 14, 2011 #16 Share Posted September 14, 2011 How long does the bus take to get from the port to Hell? We are thinking of doing an excurision starting at 12:30 from the port but we dock at 10:00am, thinking we could go to Hell and back before the afternoon excursion begins. bobnsons Posted September 18, 2011 #17 Share Posted September 18, 2011 thinking we could go to Hell and back before the afternoon excursion begins. Souds like a good name for a movie. :D If you feel like the bus won't work, take a taxi (way overpriced IMO), skip it all together, you won't be missing much. Fourseventeen Posted September 18, 2011 #18 Share Posted September 18, 2011 I wouldnt waste your money to pay a taxi just to take you to hell. You will be bored in 5 mins or less. Its about a 10 min cab ride from the cruise ship terminal....WAY to far and to dangerous to even attempt to walk (most streets lack sidewalks). Contact Capt Marvins and do a combo tour that includes a stop at Hell...this would be your best bargain without a doubt. And even on the tour they give you 15 mins in Hell and they leave...and you will be ready to go before they are ready to take you.
