I've just been reading about this on the Q and A site....it appears that some do not have passports, as it was a closed loop cruise, and therefore can't be flown on to the next port; others didn't have insurance.....I don't think we can board in the UK without insurance, can we?

I'm sorry for those stranded, though I'm sure the cruise lines will look after them.
