Orlando Vic Posted August 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2011 Where is the best port for purchasing salmon to ship back to US??? Fresh salmon would not be cost effective to ship home because it would have to be flash frozen and then sent via FedEx overnight. This is a good discussion of the issue: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1418335&highlight=salmon Smoked salmon which does not require refrigeration and can be placed in your checked luggage is another story. PennyAgain Posted August 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2011 Before shipping out of Alaska, check your local Big Box retailers. COSTCO has some really good frozen salmon and especially good frozen cod. Both COSTCO and SAMs have good smoked salmon especially as we get into the holiday season. don't pass up comparison shopping!
