St Thomas with a 3 year old

My family will be in St Thomas for a long day - 10 am to 8 pm - in Spetember.

 

We have thus far had trouble deciding what to do in port. I can more easily tell you what we don't want to do rather than what we do want to do.

 

Bus/Driving tours are out (boring for a 3 year old)

Lot's of walking or hiking is out (MIL can't physically do it)

Swimming intensive excursions are out ( 3 year old can't swim well)

Lengthy excursions ( again, attention span of a 3 year old)

 

So... Aside from free-time at a beach, are there any other suggestions?

 

The beach idea is about all we have come up with so far, and it may prove to be a lot of fun, but I'd like to have other options if there are any.

 

All of our excursions on previous cruises have always been very active- snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, stingrays, sharks, sea lions, racing sailboat charters and other things like that. I'm afraid a beach day may not be much to our liking.

 

Any suggestions?

Coral World is a great family spot. Lots of places for MIL to sit and enjoy, lots of interactive experiences for your little one- petting the sharks, feeding the stingrays, the touch pool. It is not so big that it is overwhelming. You can do a tag team deal there pretty easily! :D If you have some in your group who want to be more active, Coki Beach is next door.
