HMC reopening let us know

HMC reopens on Monday, Set. 4. I hope those privileged to be there soon will let us know what they see in terms of damage, etc. Hopefully its minimal

Based on the press release, it does not appear to be anything other than the normal hurricane damage. Downed trees, beach erosion.

 

That beach gets smaller each year. Soon, there will be nothing left.

There are apparently beach replenishment companies that can be brought in to try to fix the problem.

I just got back!! Other than some disturbed vegetation, all is well and beautful as ever!!!

 

You can also see where the water line was up near the cabanas...I only noticed that because Id been there before. Again, no big deal and was amazing!

water def looks closer to the cabanas then both times we have been there including our most recent visit the first week of Aug 2011.

It's probably safe to assume there will be some beach restoration before the busy winter season begains.

 

It's up and running now, but slowly additional improvements will be made.

I will say for Cabana #12 the fan/mister broke :(..the floor style fan. I lifted it to move it over and the whole thing snapped off of the base....I'm sure they will replace it before your visit :) Otherwise great cabana!!
