Special reason for cruising 9/11/11?

For those of you choosing to cruise on/during 9/11/11, have you chosen this date for any particular/special reason?

 

Just watching a special series on the science channel about the rebuilding of Ground Zero and the museum; such an emotional subject, and wonderful series.

 

So was just wondering.......does the date just work best in your schedule, or are there some special stories out there willing to be shared?

I'm from NYC and it was just coincidental...we always vaca during our anniversary and this time we just so happened to be leaving NYC on Sept 11th. When I tell everyone what day we are leaving on, they look at me like I'm crazy :rolleyes:

Ditto on coincidence; the date just worked out. I can't imagine any significance for a cruise to 9/11, maybe not understanding the question.

We sailed on 9/11 last year and we are sailing on 9/11 this year as well. The only reason we picked this date is because I only get 3 different weeks a year to vacation and this just happens to fall when I can go. :)

I'm not cruising this year on 9/11, but I have in the past. September 11 is my wedding anniversary. :(
