Sharing taxi from fco to port

We are 2 couples flying into Fco on different flights....never met but hooked up because we r going on the same cruise.....My flight comes in 45 minutes later than couple #1 & in different terminal.... so we exchanged cell phones .....they suggested meeting us outside our gate.....would they have time to get their luggage & go thru customs & meet us? Any suggestions would b appreciated! Thanks, Lana

It may be that the other couple has already posted about this. In general, the advice is that meeting at the gate is probably not possible. After getting the luggage and going through Customs/Immigration, it won't be possible to go back into the gate area.

Unless both of you have made arrangments for your American cell phones to roam in Europe, or you have international phones with sim cards that will work there, you should not expect to use your American phones to contact each other.

First, you are assuming that your flights will arrive on time which is a real stretch these days. That 45 min could be anything from the same time to hours apart. And you should be cognizant that if you were thinking on sharing a taxi, most Italian taxis cannot carry 4 persons if they all have luggage. You would need a larger taxi (preferably a van) which may or may not be in the taxi queue.
