My cruise on Royal Caribbean Voyager Adriatic

It started out great met my family in Italy for 1 week then head out to venice. We are a family of three for this cruise My Wife and son 25 and me.

The ship was beautiful, we have been on her before, And before people bust my B___ls I love RCCL as I do carnival and NCL. Embarkation was a snap, getting to the terminal was easy also took train to St. Lucia Station Left luggage there where they take to the ship, Took people mover and b4 you know it we were onboars at the windjammer. Room was ready by noon, My wife and I had our own cabin and son had his. Room stewards were Great. First night at dinner, Boring table with stuffed shirts plus we were in a corner of the dining room, changed table for next night and was put in middle of dining room behind captain table, Our Waiter and assist waiter were great. Now for the negatives. I will call this the SNOOZE CRUISE.no action in the night clubs except for the 20 plus night in the solarium similar to the white hot Party on nCL. Not many Girls for my son His age although he did meet a few including som 30 plus women but he did not like it. The staff was excellent, They tried but we had an older more european crowd that was not interested in Fun. The ports were good had a great time in Slovenia took a 15KM bike ride, thought i would die but made it through. Ravenna was OK nothing special as bari, Loved croatia and Venice. Would do it again but will go back to NCL or Carnival for more fun, Will be going on the allure soon from ft. laud I am sure will have fun on that. But all in all i would give 4 out of 5 stars

Thanks for coming back to post your thoughts.

I've been watching the prices for this itinerary over the past several months. They are just about giving it away; $549 for a balcony on a 7-night cruise in October . At first I was tempted to look a bit closer but the itinerary just didn't reel me in. It appears that it is not selling well and I wonder if the ports have anything to do with it...

I'm curious, was the ship full?

A European cruise (Med., Adriatic, Baltic, etc.) is very port intensive. Many, if not most, people are using the ship for transportation from port to port and are just too tired in the evening to stay up late, much less party into the night when they have to get early the next day to sight-see.

The experience is very different from a Caribbean cruise.

We are taking the train from Rome to Venice on the day of the cruise and were planning to get off at Mestre....I'm curious about your comment of dropping your bags at the other station??? Or were you meaning that you dropped them when you got to the ship?? We've never done the train so aren't quite sure about how is best to get to the ship! Thank you for you help!

DH and I are taking the train to Venice as well and I'm curious about leaving the luggage rather than taking it to the ship ourselves. Could you give more details?

when you get to the santa lucia station they have [porter trucks that take your luggage to the boat. On the return you have to carry your bags back to the station there is a 5 euro charge per bag for this service then its a short walk to the people mover 1 euro

there is also 1 other negative that i would have liked to see corrected, The Voyager schedule is as follows.

day 1 board ship in venice day 2 slovenia -nice port day three ravenna-soso

day 4 bari- good day 5 -dubrovnik great port day 6 sea day day 7 venice with overnight.

The problem is that once in venice on friday casino never opens again the same as the shops, I would have prefered day 4 day at sea day 5 bari day 6 dubrovnik day 7 at sea saturday back to port this way casino and shops stay open till late in night then you can stay at alocal hotel sat night in venice if you wish
