Miami Area Hotel

Hi - we are looking for a nice affordable hotel for our family (kids 9 and 12) with pool and near beach before our April 28 cruise out of Miami. Any suggestions on hotels or area, we will be there 2 or 3 nights before cruise and maybe a night or two after, depending on what works out with our flights.

If you want to be near the beach and are flying into MIA then you should follow Blue Heron's advice and focus on Miami Beach hotels. Many who cruise out of Miami save $$ by flying into FLL (about 45 minutes north) - with a car you could then stay on the beach in either Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood Beach (between Fort Lauderdale and Miami). Thanks. I haven't booked my plane tickets yet. We most likely will fly into Miami unless FLL works out much cheaper. I don't have as many airline options from my corner of Canada.
