brandnewcruiser Posted March 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2005 We will be on the NCL Spirit 6/4 thru 6/11 and are planning the following port tours. Please review and advise if you think they are do-able and recommend any changes. Ketchikan City Highlight tour and shopping in town Juneau Captain Larry at 9. His office said that if we can get to Mendenhall Glacier on our own as soon as they open at 8 that they would pick us up on the way to their boat. Skagway-reserved a rental car to drive to Carcross and Emerald Lake, hopefully have time to explore a bit downtown Prince Rupert--thinking of taking the NorthCoast Explorer train tour (NCL) any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Host Caroline Posted March 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2005 We are doing same thing in Juneau (well whale watching first, then glacier) and renting a car in Skagway - have done both before and those are IMHO excellent choices! If you have never been to Ketchikan that tour is a good overview but there are lots of kayaking, Misty Fjords options also?
Budget Queen Posted April 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2005 My opinion only, but the cruiseship city tours are very costly for what you get, just as good at half the cost is to just pick up a tour at the dock visitor center in Ketchikan. If you have a 7am Juneau arrival, you should have no problem getting to Mendenhall, you may want to consider a cab if it is a priority for you.
