VIP Casino Offer rate on Carnival.com!?

Here's a new one (I think)...

I just did the fake booking thing for my upcoming cruise which is booked at the ES rate and we are pre-final payment.

There is a "new" rate class showing up as the "VIP Casino Offer" which is $52 (total) less for the same class cabin that we have booked for ES.

First, when did they start this deal? Never heard of it before. Second, should/can I submit it for an ES price drop?

The "fine print" says:

Exclusive for Carnival Players club Members.

Available for a limited time. Book by November 30, 2011 and receive this exclusive discount and casino cash to spend on your cruise vacation. Discount amount varies by sailing and category. Offer is capacity controlled and subject to change at any time.

I'm going to fill out the ES form right now...just in case. Wondering if anyone knows anything about this offer?

I used this rate on my last cruise. Price was better than anything else they had to offer

I think you have to be a member for this rate to show up, so I assume you are a players club member??

I need to join!!!

Hey Cuyahoga...I've never seen it come up before...always did the e-mail to the players club to get whatever welcome aboard package we could after booking with Carnival. Native of the Cleveland area here...nice to see Cuyahoga in your screen name :-)

Fire...I guess we're members of the "club"...All we've done is play lots of slots on past cruises and then e-mail the Player's Club before our voyage. Our perks have been limited to a gift basket, photo coupons, a little casino cash...we're not high rollers by any means...

Free stuff is free stuff though! Hope we can get the ES price drop.

How do you know if you're a member of the Player's Club? Did you have to reach a certain level of play on prior cruises? I've checked out the website and it only says you don't have to register/join, so how would you know if you're already a member...did they send you an email or something after your cruise? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I did spend a lot of time/money in the casino on my last cruise but I just don't know how this works. thanks for any info:)

You have to reach a certain number of points on the slots to automatically become a member. Go to the casino section on CC for alot more specific info. There are some threads about this. I really don't put in alot of cash but when I win I usually put in back in...

My DH and I had just decided that we didn't really have the $ for a cruise, then I did the same thing - looked again at the prices on Carnival website. Surprise - I never saw them before either - the VIP casino rates came up and they were excellent! So now we are booked - yay! Plus I am getting $100 at the casino and some other stuff - yay again!

Check out the CC Casino info section.

You are welcome. I believe the phone number is on the CCL website and also in the casine section threads. LOL I see we both have upcoming cruises on the Pride and Explorer...too bad not at the same time! When we were on the Pride in March, Victor, the casino host, was very nice...I hope he is stilll there - make sure you go up and intro yourself.

Forgive me, but I'm new to the ES thing since we usually book much closer to the sail date.

I filled out the form online last night and received an e-mail stating they had received my form. I have not heard anything after that, and my booking total price has not changed. Should I just be patient? How long does it usually take to hear back?

Thanks in advance for any info you can share!

I called the Carnival Players club to find out if I'm a member and the guy said, yes, I'm in the data base as a member. I didn't think to ask him about the discount but I did do a fake booking and no offer for Players club discount showed up. Is this something for only high rollers? Do you think I should call back and ask specifically about the discount or should I just call the Carnival customer service folks? Not trying to be cheap but if I qualify for a discount, I want it!--right?

Thanks.

:)Thanks! I was wondering. I have so little free time I hate having to call.

What ship and sailing date? I'm curious if it shows up for me. :D

Paradise 2/16/11.

LOL! I don't fancy myself a high roller. I do spend about $40-$50/day on slots and I usually put most of my winnings back in. It is entertainment for me. If I win big (which has only happened twice over 10 cruises), I take a little home with me. I sometimes get to the point level to get a little free play, sometimes not. Sometimes the staff offer me a free drink on about day 3, sometimes not.

If I were you, I would call Carnival about the discount first. Were you logged in to Carnival when you looked? I was, so that probably triggered the Player's Club offer somehow. If that doesn't work, then I would call the Player's Club back.

Today I did find out we got the price drop. Here is the e-mail:

Your Early Saver request has been approved for the cruise rate of ($52 total less for two in the cabin we booked). Confirmations showing the rate adjustment have been issued to the email address provided. (We did receive the confirmation e-mail as well)

If you have not paid your reservation in full, the final amount due for your cruise will be adjusted to reflect the difference. If you have already paid for your cruise in full, you will receive the difference as on board credit to your Sail & Sign account.

Thank you again for choosing Carnival.

So I am, thus far, happy with the ES program, being a newbie to it! :D
