Art and Culinary Classes on O

We have never been on an Oceana cruise. That aside, my question is regarding the two classes that O has onboard. What are the classes like? For instance, is the art classes confined to painting? Do they ever do a 'how to be a beginner' at any of these classes?

The culinary classes are probably exciting, but has anyone done these and could they give some of their experiences on both of the classes?

Thank you in advance for any information.

No... there were craft projects on our cruise in March

Thank you for the blog link. I tried looking online through the O site and I'm not very familiar with it so I didn't find all this useful information.

You can find theCulinary classes @

http://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships/marina/lifestyle/bonappetit.aspx

Of course they may change depending on when you cruise

Also only available on the Oceania class ships not the R-class ships

enjoy

We booked on the Marina. We are on for 36 days and am so ready for a new cruiseline. We've heard rave reviews on our own with O so we are quite excited!

I don't know if this is a R type ship or not.

Marina & Rivera are the Oceania class ships

Nautica, Regatta & Insignia are the R-ships

enjoy the cruise

The culinary classes are very well done. I took the 2 part french class in Aug. The first class was technique--very informative. The second we cooked a meal--soooo good. We did cook in the first class. If you want to take any of the classes, book online before you go. There were no empty spaces in the classes I took. Chef Kelly and her staff are very approachable, always willing to answer questions and always circulating the room to check on what and how we were doing. Heard the class in Barcelona shopping and tasting was great. Pat:)
