DaveOKC Posted October 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Is there a way to convert some of my US dollars to Canadian dollars at the Montreal airport after I arrive? Also, I understand that the conversion rate now favors the US dollar by about 3%, does that sound right? DaveOKC

DaveOKC USD $1.00 = CDN $1.027 There are foreign exchange kiosks located at the airport; however, you are better off going to an ATM machine in the airport as these kiosks charge a commission and they don't have a desirable inter-bank rate. At ATM expect to pay 3% exchange premium + charges associated with using ATM assessed by ATM and your bank - still a better deal than the kiosks. The foreign exchange kiosks are hard to miss, located right outside the arrivals areas. You might have to look at a map to locate the ATMs.
