Pub Crawl on Celebrity?

On our voyage on Holland America Lines earlier this year, one night during the trip HAL scheduled a Pub Crawl where a group of people go from bar to bar on the ship and have a cocktail in each bar and also have some fun games and competition. My wife and I had a lot of fun on this. Does Celebrity offer something similar? I don't recall seeing anything like this on the daily programs on Celebrity.

Nope, I have never seen a Pub Crawl offered on any of the ships.

Now, if you are going to Key West? It is offered down there all

the time:)..or you could do your own Pub Crawl:D...start at the

Sunset Bar and stop at each of the other bars;)

Hi,

How does a poker/pub crawl work?

You meet in one of the bars, purchase a drink, if you wish, everyone playing picks a card from the deck, finish your drink and move to the next bar, order another drink, pick another card, finish your drink and move to the next bar. You continue that until you either have 5 or 7 cards in your hand. If you are playing 5, then the person with the best hand out of the 5 cards wins. If you are playing 7, each person would discard 2 cards and the person with the best hand after discarding 2 cards wins. You are trying to get the best poker hand. You will need one person to keep track of what cards everyone pulls and that will be the same person to hold the decks of cards.

Let me know if you have any other questions. It is really fun...!! :)

It would be cool if it was sponsered by celebrity, and you got a free dinner at a specialty restaurant or something. (if you won!)

It would be a fun thing for them to sponsor! They could charge a small fee, if the wanted, and include drinks for those who do not have a drink package!:) I like the idea of winning a dinner at a specialty restaurant!!

On a different cruise line they hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner! That was a lot of fun!!

Also did a Poker Run/ Pub Crawl on our last Solstice (Caribbean) cruise. I was organized by one of the roll call members (prior to embarkation). Anyone could join that was interested. I think we did $5/per person....winner got 75% of $$ and 2nd place got 25%. Definitely enough to pay for dinner in specialty restaurant.

It was lots of fun....and easy. Did have to have 5 different decks of cards with unique patterns on the back.... just to be fair. (everyone playing drew a card at each bar....different deck @ each bar)

We did it as we sailed away from one of our ports....avoiding formal night. People came in swimsuits with coverups, shorts & t-shirts to dressed for dinner (so very flexible)

One bar area was starting a trivia game (ship sponsered) and we stayed and played that too.:p

There is an easier way to play!

Thanks to Donna (the above poster "Cruisefreak"), this was our method.... when you paid the $5, you got a sheet of paper that listed each card (by suit). We only used one deck, so when you drew a card, you then circled it on your sheet. Kept it quick, easy, and honest. :p

OneNewTexan--your photo looks familiar. Are you by any chance half of TourDeCruise on the Jan. 2 Equinox cruise?

On our Mercury cruise out of Baltimore, the roll call organized a pub crawl. We had 3 sea days at each end of the cruise, and lots of consecutive days to fill. I didn't participate, but I do remember that the person handling the cards had to be a non-drinker, sort of a "designated dealer."

Our CC boards have organized cabin crawls with a poker run followed by a slot pull!

Xcerpts from my review:

"Another special event today was the much anticipated cabin crawl. The cabin crawl is a walking tour of the ship, with stops in various volunteers’ rooms. Outfitted in special t-shirts we had printed prior to the cruise, that bared the name of our group, we set off in a mass sea of blue from the outrigger bar. It was 2PM and happy hour was already beginning! Once in the room you were provided snacks, drinks or small gifts from the host and then picked a card from a standard deck of playing cards. Not only did this give you the opportunity to see the various style cabins on the ship from different angles it also provided a new game, a poker run! The top three hands would win small gifts provided by some of the members of the ruby cruisers. To top it off after the cabin crawl we adjourned to the casino where each person gave $10 to be distributed in to three side by side slot machines. This was our official slot pull, although we did not hit any jackpots it provided a nice hour of laughs and fun for all involved. Our last formal night would be this evening and reality started to hit that the festivities would soon be over! "
