San Gervasio Ruins???

We have visited Chichen Itza and Tulum, and just for something to do, we may book a shore excursion to the San Gervasio Ruins on Cozumel, and Playa Mia. Are these particular ruins at San Gervasio impressive at all, (I know they won't compare to the other two) or should we just stick to the beach?

I would just do a beach day. Compared to Tulum, they are quite small. They are ok if you never been to any ruins.

we went and were disappointed its nothing if you have seen other ruins.....i would go to the beach......

I thought they were worth a look, but I've not been to the more prominent ruins. Since you've been to Chichen Itza and Tulum, I'd go ahead and make it a beach day. Unless you're an archeologist and just gotta do it, there's nothing you'll see at San Gervasio that you haven't seen bigger, better or more spectacular on the mainland.

I have to agree. We went in March and honestly, they are nothing like what you've already seen. The only thing impressive we say there were the iguanas. Biggest ones I've ever seen! :eek: These ruins are not in wide open spaces like the ones you've already been to. They are set back into the trees and they are not many visitors. I decided the reason the iguana were so big was because they had to be eating the tourists! LOL :D Skip the ruins, skip the iggies, enjoy the beach!

Yeah, those iguanas are a pretty healthy size. I don't even want to guess what they've actually been snacking on... :eek:

Don't bother. You've seen two of the most famous Mayan ruins already! San Gervasio is a pile of rocks compared to either Tulum or, for sure, Chichen Itza! Go to a beach or snorkel instead.
