RaceAddict Posted October 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2011 If you're interested in seeing the process you can watch the Miraflores Locks webcam right now and see the Statendam passing through there. At present she's far off in the distance, having just passed under the Centennial Bridge and will first be entering the Pedro Miguel Locks. http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html?cam=MirafloresHi That link will have the Statendam onscreen for quite a while I believe. RaceAddict Posted October 19, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted October 19, 2011 If you click the Centennial Bridge link she's on that cam right now in the Perdo Miguel Locks, partially blocked by a cargo ship. The Mirafores Hi Res cam can also be viewed full screen, which is very cool as she approaches those locks.

RaceAddict Posted October 19, 2011 Author #12 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Judging by the number of people on deck I doubt it's pouring. That webcam just needs a bit of a cleaning I think. Even when it's really sunny there the lens isn't quite as clear as you'd think it should be. Next cam - Going down? http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html?cam=Miraflores

Even when it's really sunny there the lens isn't quite as clear as you'd think it should be. Next cam - Going down? http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html?cam=Miraflores It was heavily overcast today, 82 degrees by 1 pm, with ~70% humidity (higher earlier on, then down to 70% in the afternoon), and a 10 - 20% chance of rain. It wasn't sunny. So, while it wasn't raining, the air was very moist and icky. At least the sun wasn't out -- which would have made it a steam bath. I've been through the canal when it's HOT and sticky, and when it's overcast and rainy. Even when rainy, people were out on deck.
