carnival is sooooo unfair and ruined my day

I'll just jump right to the point with a cliffnotes version, ...

So , my cordless phone battery died last night, and I was afraid to leave the house today to get a replacement because the upgrade fairy is due to call me. We are just under 30 days now, and I know thats when she calls. I didn't want to take a chance and have the answering machine take the call. After all, there could have been a power outage, and it never would have gotten the message. So I waited.....and waited...and waited(almost like waiting on embarkation day long before I turned platinum)...

 

Finally the phone rang, and I was not gonna miss it, Who cared is my bladder was about to burst, (again, if I was in the bathroom, and missed the call...)...but to my dismay, a telemarketer.....foiled again...

 

So, if anyone happens to hear from our beloved upgrade fairy, please let her know I am looking for her. I really need to go the bathroom, and am tired of sitting by the phone.

GeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZ, I had those last 30 days, before a cruise. Will I get the call, won't I, will I, won't I?

 

Have gotten the call once and did take up the offer, only once in 11 years of crusing.

I was waiting and waiting on the upsell fairy too. I even booked 3 in a cabin for 5 hoping that would "UP" my chances. But as the days counted down and my phone wasn't ringing I decide to be my own fairy and upgraded myself!! (Those casino rates were great!) So glad I did as now there are no more balcony cabins for 3!!

hahahah this post is NOT what I expected! Thanks for the laugh. We keep talking and waiting for the upgrade fairy too. We have a limit we set looking for an OS since we booked a balcony this time. crossing my fingers but not holding my breath. We got a call on our Valor cruise in 2010... so you never know!

On a somewhat related note. I used to work telephone tech support for the local cable internet/telephone provider. I was speaking to a woman who stopped me mid sentenced and said "Wait, I need to flush now" and then I heard the sound of the toilet flushing. :eek: It definitely took me a minute to compose myself after that call.

I've got you beat, I've been on 33 and they've never called me either. It used to happen, but now, I think the upsell fairy is stealing all of the upgrade fairies cabins.

The good news is that I have, indeed, gotten calls from he upsell fairy.

The bad news is that I work during the day (gee) and they don't leave voice mails. :mad:

I got a call recently from a number I did not recognize so I didn't answer. I googled it up and lo and behold it was the upsale fairy number according to some posts google found here on CC.

 

I don't know why they would call me when our next cruise isn't until August 2012. I haven't received another call and there was no message left so I assume it was not important but an upsale offer 10 months prior to the sail date? :confused:

You made my day and I almost pissed my pants..... Though we have cruises many times with Carnival no calls, emails , upgrade, upsell... Our son, just two weeks ago received a call upsell fairy......from OV to owners suite on Fascination 5 day cruise.......yep he took it. Good thing that was the cruise just after the Fascination docked late due to unable to get under bridge to get to port of Jacksonville. When he arrived at port at 4PM ship was just finishing getting off the passengers, He the mrs and our lovely 2 granddaughts ( first cruise for the children) they were speed away immediately........onboard ASAP. Was it worth the $$$$ - I would rather use the $$$$ for another cruise....:D Thanks again for making my day..... my fingers and toes are crossed.
