Favorite ADULT Cruise?

We really like Carnival but are leaning towards a "child Free" vacation. Are there any cuises that have fewer if any kids running around?

We've cruised Carnival on the Miracle in late October and there very few children.

 

Cruise when school is in session to avoid hoardes of kids.

Good adice. We try to sail at least once a year and we're flexable. So that should work nicely.

 

Although we did sail with a group of spring break college kids. I wish I had a camera and the email address to their parent! Nope, don't jump ahead. These kids were great! Polite, well mannered. They acted they way you HOPE your kids act when you're not around. I'm sure most of their parents would be happily surprised.

Celebrity ships attract few families are always adult oriented. Beautiful ships, great food and service. Much more elegant than CCL and attracts a more formal crowd. I really enjoy the line overall.

Don't cruise between Memorial day and Labor Day, Christmas Break, Spring Break, Thanksgiving Break, or any other holidays to avoid children.

 

The fall or springtime 2 weeks after Easter should be fine. Any week before, during or after Easter are no no's. College and school children are back in school after the 2 week period.

 

Some parents do pull their children out of school at anytime throughout the year, but there will be less children during the holidays or summertime.

 

Cruising the ships that do not offer a children's club or the upscape cruise lines will most likely lack children.

We've enjoyed the adults only pools on our Princess cruises. Our holiday cruise on Celebrity did not have many children. It was a 9-night cruise, so that may have kept the number of children down--plus the fare for people who booked way ahead of time was outrageous. We did not have any children on our schooner cruise off the coast of Maine. But not everyone wants to go on vacation to help hoist the sails or wash the dishes after each meal.

Oceania or Radisson would be the ones that do not cater to kids. Oceania esp.

This is a 12 day cruise and we didn't see ANY young children. We had our kids (21, 18, and 16) and they were three of only a hand full of teens and young adults. It was by far the best cruise that we have ever taken - we even took an excursion to Moscow (holy cow). The service was great, the spa was incredible and the ports were so different from the "usual". We are going to the Mexican Riviera on 4/30 for our 26th wedding anniversary on 05/05/05 and we hope there aren't a bunch of kids either - this is our 6th cruise and our 1st without our kids. We are thinking about a Mediteraian Cruise next year. Good luck choosing - there are so many fun places to go and fun cruises to take you there.
