Another QM2 in Hamburg

Whoever has the chance to visit the maritime museum in Hamburg, will have the chance to see the QM2 in a different version... as LEGO- model !eyebrows.gif It sure is worth a visit, especially after you have seen, how it was built:

Just to mention a few things: LEGO (the company) did not support this challenge. A LEGO-brick-builder-colleague of my husband (from a German "Adult Fans of LEGO" (AFOLs)-Group) and his diligent helpers designed and created this really very well turned-out model of the original Queen Mary 2 - in the Dock-Elbe 17 - during dry dock works... the welder is "active" (Glass-Fiber-lights !) shocked.gif

Just a few facts: the model is 7m long, needed 1 ton (1'000 kg) of LEGO bricks and 6 months building time.... and even the keel-laying is made 100% professional - with luck-coins ! That guy didn't forget anything... only the model was built befor the bridge got the extension on the bridge-wing...

This is a link with real brilliant pictures.... look at the details ! eek.gifQueen Mary 2 in Legos

Here is a film of a visitor (makes a bit disy due to heavy moving, but shows some nice details..) Lego Schiff "Queen Mary 2" Maritim Museum Hamburg - YouTube smile.gif

And here are some more pictures of the model being finalized in the Museum... STEFAN MALZKORN - Fotografie (215 pictures, you have to start with the last picture in the album -No. 215 and move "backwards" to No. 1, then it's the correct building cycle).

This is good very good.
