ship Christmas decorations

We sailed on December 6th last year and the ship was also decorated for "The Holidays". They also had a "Holiday" show featuring a special appearance by a "Holiday" character, and they played "Holiday" songs!

For some reason, they were very careful about NOT using the word Christmas on anything they printed. I guess they didn't want to offend those who don't celebrate Christmas even though the ship was blatantly catering to those who DO. They even played songs that included the "C" word (Christmas)

We've noticed the same on CCL. Unlike HAL where the ships are grandly decorated for CHRISTMAS and the C word is used onboard, CCL seems more concerned with being "politically correct." As Christians, we enjoy observing the Menorah lighting ceremonies on CCL but we also wish everyone a Merry Christmas and would gladly accept greetings from those of other faiths who happen to be onboard. :)

We did a back to back starting on Dec 4 last year on the Elation and it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We took a small tree, some garland, gel type stick on's, and santas to decorate our cabin. We also took a couple of Santa hats and Christmas sweaters and mmy DH took a Christmas tie and red shirt. The pictures we took on the ship and in Cozumel with our hats and Christmas shirts were done in plenty of time to put into our Christmas cards when we got home.
