I hate cig smoke...sore throat instantly..and not asthma but just allergy awful for me...I can't see paying for a cabin now with a balcony and that risk of not being able to use it much if....but smokers need somewhere..i was so pleased on my Paradise inside it was not around me...now at least with an inside or outside cabin your smoke level is going to be good...i usually do not say it bothers me in a group and move quickly..when my throat has reached its peak but smoke is just bad with your food or in your nostrils if you do not smoke...tough issue..sarah

We are smokers and never want to offend anyone....so we always smoke only where we are suppose to...but it's not fair to not have an area on the lido for smokers. Especially those that do not have a balcony. We like to sit on the lido deck also and enjoy the pool and big screens.....and I will not sit at a bar all day....not going to happen. Sure hope it gets ironed out soon....we sail the Dream next year.

So I do not understand why they do not have a room say the size of a small bar, like the piano bar, designate it as a smoking lounge, like the airports do, maybe make 3 or 4 of them, and make that the only place for smoking. Then do not allow non-smokers in. The smokers can smoke all they want, the smoke is filtered and tunneled from the room to the outside. Maybe use a double door clean room type entrance so the smoke does not get out much.

The smokers could hang out, and get their fix, heck they might even smoke less, because of all the second hand smoke.

I am not joking around, I think a real smoking room would work.

But then I do not smoke, have never smoked, and most of the time do not mind the smoke unless the person smoking is rude and blows the smoke at me, like in the casino.

Love this idea..with the good filter outside but yes..make one outside area that can usually be blowing out to sea..and 2 or 3 enclosed glassed in places...the Salt Lake City one is big at my change plane terminal but keeps it away for nonsmokers around tons of gates in a little area..with a good crowd shuffling through all day...Sarah

I'm the worst kind of "non smoker". I used to smoke and am lucky now that I haven't had a smoke in 11 years. Being a previous smoker, the smell of second hand smoke is very annoying. Probably more than those who have never smoked. I do however, feel sorry for the smokers of today that they have so few areas to feed their habit. Having an area that is for smokers is probably a good way to solve this dilema. That way the non-smokers can avoid the area if they so choose. The best way to solve it is for everyone to quit!!! Easier said than done, but it sure would be great.

No, it does not bother me to have smoking on one side.

When I cruised with my Mom we ate our lunch at an outdoor table after getting onto the ship. Very few people out there, but as time went on more and more people and some started to smoke. I realized we were sitting on the "smoking side" so we just moved over to the other side, no big deal.

I would rather they have a smoking side and non-smoking side of the Lido deck, rather than allow smoking on individual balconies as I've seen some smokers say they will "smoke more on their balcony out of spite" to Carnival. :(

I don`t smoke, DW does, friends we cruise with do. Starboard side is for the smokers. I sit with them and if the smoke bothers me, I move.:D Nothing wrong with that. Always something to bicker about. Leave the situation as is: starboard== smoking side: port==non smoking. If they can still smell and don`t like it, stop complaining, don`t cruise..

whats the difference between no, and does not bother me at all? seems like the same choice.

I just got off triumph and my friends did a almost b2b on conquest and her impression was smoking ban was much tighter on conquest than on triumph. triumph I saw cigar smokers both on lido and at the bar in the casino. lots of smokers everywhere and no one cared. On conquest for some reason they cared... now go figure that one out? depends on the CD? thats all I can figure out.

We paid for our cruise just like everyone else. Smoking is not illegal. Seems to me it would be better if cruise companies had the smoking areas on outside decks where the smoke would blow away. Personally, I believe there should be a smoking section of the Lido deck, we wish to join the fun and have our cig too. Like i said, we paid just the same as others have, we should be able to enjoy the activities.

Nope.

Smokers have to smoke some where and I'd rather it not be on the cabin balconies.

Agree-would prefer not having smoking on balconies, or perhaps a dedicated balcony smoking section or side, but logistically this is not possible I know. On deck is fine as long as dedicated.
