williamson_ja Posted November 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Would they allow me to bring a cooler that is 13X11 instead of 12X12? I found one from llbean that looked pretty nice. I just don't want to order it if I can't use it on the ship. Thanks
firefly333 Posted November 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2011 nope, if even one dimension is over 12 inches, they will confiscate it (as has been posted). You would be better getting a collasible cooler, and putting it in your checked luggage, then size doesnt matter.
BeccaBecca1713 Posted November 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2011 I made it on in FLL last month with a soft rolling cooler that was a little larger than guidelines, something like 12x12x16. I took an empty backpack in case they confiscated the cooler, but I lucked out. They did however, take out all 24 plastic soda bottles and shook them and checked the cap seals. firefly333 Posted November 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2011 I had forgotten. Last monday i had to open my suitcase and they looked at each and every can of coke I had brought onboard. all 5 cans. lol
TheGrandparents Posted November 13, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2011 They may or may not take it so be prepared. Ours was just under the 12" wide and they looked at it twice and let it go. Honestly I would make sure that it was under the limit to avoid any possibility of losing it.
williamson_ja Posted November 13, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks everyone. I'll play it safe and not use it as my carry on. So, if I just put the soda in my carry on luggage and put a large collapsible cooler inside my luggage- that's legal. right? I just can't have the soda inside the large cooler when I bring it onboard??? So, along the same lines, how big can my carry on LUGGAGE be? Is it the same guidelines as the airport?
