Fishbait17 Posted December 4, 2011 #576 Share Posted December 4, 2011
 That's something I've never encountered before. How do you book a cruise thru "Casino at Sea" ? John
If you have sailed with NCL and have a casino history with them, you can qualify for reduced or comped sailings based on your past play. It's a winning game for NCL, but it is handy for people who spend $$$ in the casino anyway. Robin

wallygator Posted December 4, 2011 #578 Share Posted December 4, 2011
Certainly not rich here.. Took a year to save for it and another year to finish paying it off, but it was a big celebration - 25th Anniversary, two college graduations. One of the BEST vacations we have ever had as a family, and probably the last one for a long while - schedules may never align like that again.. If you have the means, I highly recommend it! :D I will appeal that and the other cruises that NCL has miscalculated on my history. In the meantime, if you book through CAS you should check your cruise history!!!! DMH15 Posted December 4, 2011 #580 Share Posted December 4, 2011
OBCs are normally referenced on your emailed and printed "Cruise Booking Confirmation" about half way down page one, just below the "payment schedule" and above "cancellation Policy". DMH15 Posted December 4, 2011 #581 Share Posted December 4, 2011
Explain please
Sorry. This Latitudes change may motivate people to be in the mood to book cruises, spend money, benefitting NCL. I know it has piqued my interest today. Even with more people at Platinum there are a lot of sailings for themto be spread out over.
tbmrt Posted December 4, 2011 #582 Share Posted December 4, 2011 My husband has Silver marked next to his name on our Edocs, I have Bronze. We were married 20 years yesterday and never cruised alone! I'm wondering if I should bother calling NCL to change or if I can "tag along" with hubby on his silver upgrade? We have taken 2 short cruises, one 7 nighter, and have an 11 night coming up soon (all balconies). We had also booked one that NCL cancelled on us the day before we were to leave due to mechanical difficulties. That would make it 5 cruises after the upcoming one. I read that the silver perks would not be available til after the 6th cruise...is that true? I checked the rewards level sheet and don't see much of a difference in what NCL gives bronze vs. silver except for discounts on photos & spa & a gathering to meet the ship's officers. What happens at this "gathering"? Sorry if some questions are repetitive....long thread and I'm confused! Barbara
andreamarc Posted December 4, 2011 #583 Share Posted December 4, 2011
I think that is fairly normal. Spending money on an amazing vacation for your family is not showing off. Many can't afford to travel at all, does that mean anyone cruising is trying to impress those who can't? It's all relative. I can afford to travel in suites for the experience it gives me, I don't go around telling anyone on the ship where I'm staying. Anyhow, just wanted to add my two cents. weloverunning Posted December 4, 2011 #589 Share Posted December 4, 2011 To get back on track......WOW! What a surprise when we boarded the Dawn on 11/23. We were both upgraded to Platinum and knew nothing about it. Thought they made a mistake until now when we just got home and read these posts. Got all the extras...free dinners at Le Bistro or Cagneys (for $5 more each) each dinner coming with a bottle of wine (Berringers not house wine) free laundry service, free behind the scenes tour, fruit and house wine in cabin, and multiple wine/cheese/cocktail parties. Hubby had just turned gold with this booking and was given a $25 OBC for turning gold then suddenly we are Platinum. Of course we purchased two future cruise certificates!! NCL has be using a "Comp dinner Selected Wine List" with about 4 whites, 4 reds & 1 bubbly. Did they not have that "special" wine list? Also, please note that if there are two people in the room that are Platinum, you may have to ask for your second bottle of wine upon embarkation. We had to on the 11/12 EPIC cruise. weloverunning Posted December 4, 2011 #596 Share Posted December 4, 2011 It was the complimentary wine list with many choices. I happen to like white Zinfandel . Jvdmd: since we are both platinum, we ate at both lebistro and cagneys for free with a bottle of wine at each. We gave away six bottles of house wine which we accumulated through our TA/latitudes/winning in casino etc. They would not let me pay to upgrade to something other than the house wine (brut, merlot,Chardonnay)

Ellen
Hi Ellen Who's that "hottie" standing to your right in your Avatar photo???? :D That's good to know about the embarkation wine. We have an owner's suite for our Miami sailing next week and get the 3 comp bottles of booze. I'd already pre purchased 2 whites, 2 reds, & 4 bubblys. So now I get 2 more bubblys on embakation and 2 bottles with the Comp dinner. By the way, are the embarkation bubblys full bottle or half bottles? For an 11 day cruise, that sounds like a good start: 3 liters of booze, 3 reds, 3 whites, 6 bubblys. It takes care of happy hour and dinners. What shall I do for the afternoons? :D John Give a big hug to your Mom (the hottie)

Tiggertastic Posted December 4, 2011 #600 Share Posted December 4, 2011 I can confirm they have changed it. If you log onto ncl.com with your latitudes number it confirms the new NCL rewards: 1-19 is bronze 20-47 is silver 48-75 is gold 76 and above is platinum They work on 1 point per day and 2 points in a penthouse and above. I was already silver and still am as I have 47 points but my husband just moved from Gold to Platinum as he has 82 nights on board.
