nooosey Posted November 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Thanks for this information, I am new to Oceania and have a cruise booked on Marina for next May. These charges do seem expensive, I know it is often unfair to compare charges from other cruise lines but having recently been on Crystal, they charge $50 for 120 minutes and longer minute packages are proportionately less expensive. They also allow everyone free 20 minutes on the last day to do online airline check ins.
Mura Posted November 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Internet usage is one area where Oceania is very overpriced for extremely slow service. I just bite the bullet and pay for the internet. Others don't!
RetiredFL Posted November 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2011 or use the internet cafes in port. Many of the docks have an internet cafe right in the building. The crew always knows where the cheap ones are as then go there in droves. Usually the charge is something like a Euro for 15 to 30 minutes. JimandStan Posted December 1, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2011 coming from cruise lines with free minutes.. this must be a joke.. i will wait in line in port like the crew. The "joke" is that you believe that there IS such a thing as "free minutes". You paid for them, it was just bundled into a different fee.

Actually there is such a thing as free minutes on internet. Princess offers 250 minutes/person to Platinum and Elite level passengers, with 20% (?)additional minutes if one signs up the first day - the 250 minutes + 20% are still free. The cruise fare is the same whether one partakes in this or not - it is one of the perks. 500+ minutes per couple is very nice indeed, supplemented by occasional free internet on shore, if needed. I am not saying that it is worth sailing on Princess for this alone, but it is a perk and is free.
