Reasonable/safe Walk?

Am I out of my mind or is it NOT reasonable/safe to be able to get off the ship, walk up to Blackbeards/Amber Museum and walk back down and then shop on your own? Do I have to book the cruise tour?

Some attractions won't let cruise passengers book on their own if the tour is offered on their ship, so you have to contact them for details.

IMO that is perfectly safe if you are Havensight. I am not so sure about the walk from Crown Bay, but more from dealing with a cars issue than a personal safety issue.
