stewiecruiser Posted December 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We are cruising this Sunday !!! Going on Carnival Legend for a 7 day cruise. Which nights are the formal nights? We booked at the Steakhouse on the Thursday but then I read that on formal nights you have to wear a suit coat/jacket and we were not planning on taking a suit - just dress pants and shirt/tie. Has anyone cruised recently and know this info? Thanks !!

KroozFoolz Posted December 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Last week on Legend the elegant nights were Monday (day at sea) and Friday (Roatan, but we left at 3 pm).

MagSeven1413 Posted December 8, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Over halloween, our formal nights were Monday (the first sea day) and Thursday (Roatan). I was coming down with a cold and had a sore throat Thursday and couldn't enjoy my dinner. We did the steakhouse on Wednesday - I highly recommend it. kait17 Posted December 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 8, 2011 We were on the Legend over Thanksgiving and formal nights were Monday and Friday. While people did wear suits and formal dresses most did not. Dress pants and shirt/tie were more the norm with some even more casual than that. DancerOT Posted December 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2011 Does anyone have a recommendation on what night to do the steakhouse? We are leaving in a few weeks and I know my BF would like to go one night. I would like to enjoy the formal nights in the main dining room as I love dressing up, so I would rather not on the formal nights. Are there any nights where the menu isn't as great as other nights? Also, can I email the email address above to make reservations ahead of time or how do I make the reservations? Thanks!

If you are a wine drinker, you get a comp bottle of wine if you book for the first night (the same day you embarked). You can always look at the night's MDR menu on your cabin TV the morning of. If nothing looks appetizing, then call the steakhouse for reservations. I'd think reservations should be easy once onboard. the times we've done steakhouse it's a total ghost town. Maybe 3 other tables with people and that's it.

serene56 Posted December 19, 2011 #12 Share Posted December 19, 2011 I was told for my sailing on the Legend--it will be Monday and Friday. Depends on the itinerary. Legend changed itinerary not too long ago. Roatan is our port on Friday. 8am til 3pm (makes sense to do it this day) Belize is our port on Thursday and we are in port til 8am til 5pm. Now on some sailings it does a different itinerary where Roatan 8am to 3pm is on Thursday.
