Smoking in french door rooms

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever had a 4K room on a carnival ship and smoked in the room with the door

open -- or up next to the door being open.

I doubt it would work since you really can't step outside.

You might want to consider a 7A on upper.

That's what we are doing.:D

Is it worth the $250.00 dollar fine and put off in next port?

There is nothing that says you could be put off at the next port for violating the smoking in the cabin policy. Geesh, don't post things like that just to scare people.

It's right in the cruise contract:

© Smoking is prohibited in all public areas except in designated exterior open deck areas, certain dance and jazz clubs, and designated areas in the casino. The Spa suite and stateroom accommodations are an entirely smoke free environment, including the outside balcony. Effective December 1, 2011 smoking is prohibited in all staterooms. Beginning December 1, 2011, Guests with a balcony stateroom may only smoke outside on their balcony. Guest agrees to strictly comply with Carnival's non-smoking policy. Guest further acknowledges and agrees that any violation of this policy shall, in the sole discretion of Carnival, constitute a material breach of this cruise contract. In the event of such breach, Guest forfeits all rights hereunder, including the right to remain on board. Carnival reserves the right to disembark the Guest(s), at any port, as determined by Carnival. Carnival shall not be liable for any refund or other compensation or damages whatsoever to any Guest disembarked pursuant to this provision, or who disembarks because another Guest is so disembarked, and all such Guests forfeit all rights under Carnival's "Vacation Guarantee." Guest and Carnival further agree that any violation of the non-smoking policy would also cause Carnival to incur damages, including but not limited to, loss of Guest goodwill, revenue, cleaning, maintenance and/or other costs. Guest and Carnival expressly acknowledge the difficulty of ascertaining the amount of such damages, and therefore agree that a reasonable estimate of the damages for any violation of the non-smoking policy is $250. Guest authorizes a charge in this amount as liquidated damages, as well as repatriation expenses (including airfare) against Guest's on board charge account, without further notice, for any violation of the non-smoking policy.

Perhaps you should READ the cruise ticket contract. Section 8C

I stand corrected.

I'll be waiting to hear about the first person put ashore for violating the in-cabin smoking policy. ;)

Who would have so little common sense that they would risk it? If you get away with it...you gain nothing but a little convenience. If you get caught you risk ruining your cruise and your travel companion's as well. Even if you believe Carnival is unlikely to follow through...it's really worth the risk? If caught you have no argument to stay on board.

I'm sure there will be those that will do it...I am NOT one of them. ;)
