Renting a Car in Ports

What has been your experience renting a car in Cozumel, Cancun, Roatan and Belize?

Was there a reliable vendor at the dock itself in these different ports?

How long did the rental and return take?

Is there a company you will not use again?

How much did they charge?

Would you do it again?

All your experience and remarks would be appreciated.

...we wouldn't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with the car not wanting to start and miss the boat...
