Gatwick to Dover

Its been discussed before and there are really only 2 pratical ways.

1) Private car transfer which would probably be about £120 each way.

2) Train. Assuming you are just going straight to Dover (ie no stopover in London), the easiest way is to get the First Capital Connect train from Gatwick (station in the south terminal) to London Bridge station. Change platforms (all on the level, so no problems with rolling luggage) and get the Southeastern service to Dover Priory. Standard single is about £44, return about £49, but you can often get cheaper fares around £19 single and £27 return if the timings work for you. Total journey time about 2:30 each way and trains are at least every hour, usually every half hour. Use this website http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/planjourney/search to do dummy bookings. Look out for the cheap fares button! You can only book 12 weeks in advance. Use 'Gatwick' and 'Dover Priory'. You will also need a cab from Dover Priory station to the cruise terminal...about £7 each way.
