cruising_cattlemen Posted December 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2011 We will be aboard the Odyssey when she calls at Fort Lauderdale on 21 March. We had hoped to hold a party on board for friends who live in the area, but we are informed by our TA that Seabourn is reluctant to allow this. Therefore, we are seeking recommendations for a nice restaurant in the area, where we could possibly book a private room (for about 12 people) and host a luncheon party for our friends. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
rl787 Posted December 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2011 We were in Fort Lauderdale recently and found two possible options for you. One is called Canyon Southwest Cafe, it is not a cafe but a small stylish restaurant. This place has a lovely local charm with a fabulous warm casual atmosphere. The owner meets and greets everyone, you will all feel very welcome. http://www.canyonfl.com/ The other is an Italian called Casa d'Angelo, Angelo was the head Chef at the 4 Seasons New York. It is a typical upscale smart Italian that serves excellent food. This is very safe and you can be assured of an excellent meal. http://casa-d-angelo.com/ Have a great time. It is on 17th street near the Renaissance hotel. The menu is varied, but we like the fresh fish selections that they do in a variety of ways-broiled, cajun etc. Casa d'Angelo is our favorite restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, but it is not open for lunch. Seasons 52 has a branch on Sunrise at the Galleria. We like that place too, but do not know if they have a separate room for a group. Martita B. Posted January 2, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Pier 66 Hotel is a great, comfortable place to stay ~a short Taxi ride to 17th Street ~everything/stores here ~Plus Publix ~I like to make a quick stop on the way to the pier and buy fresh flowers/my mint pot to take to the ship ~also an excellent wine selection. Good restaurants on 17th ~some, just 1/2 block off 17th.:D This area is the most convenient in Ft. Lauderdale when sailing in or out. mariner Posted January 8, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 8, 2012 Harbor Cafe is tucked in a strip mall east of the Publix. We always have breakfast there. You're apt to find ship officers and crewe doing the same on turnaround day.
