Info on Enchantment/Bermuda cruise

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! We're 1-time Princess cruisers considering the Bermuda sailing in May and have a couple questions for you knowledgable ones (after spending a lot of time on the RCI web site).

1. What changes to the deck plans are coming after April 13 -- the web site has two sets of plans to look at, and I can't tell any difference.

2. How much are the prepaid gratuities if you do My Time Dining?

3. Would love details on the smoking policy -- want to avoid secondhand smoke as much as possible. I found where there's no smoking in staterooms and the casino has 1 smokefree night -- are there restricted smoking areas? What about on balconies -- that was a big Princess issue until the smoking policy change this year.

4. Is a balcony important for Bermuda, Boston and Newport?

5. What OV stateroom locations are better in terms of quiet?

6. Anything else to be aware of?

I'm sure I will have other questions as we get into the process more, and I appreciate your help!

I don't quite understand this one. Enchantment is going into dry dock in December for some major changes, so I wouldn't think anything is happening on 13 April - she's got cruises scheduled.

I have just done a lengthy review of my pre-Christmas Enchantment review - and Radio is leaving tomorrow, who usually does great 'Live from...' reports, so they might help you with general things about the ship :)

The Deck plans are the same and will not be updated until Enchantment has finished her dry dock session which is scheduled for the first part of December 2012. They are actually still in the planning stages of where any new additions are going to be located.

Here are the Gratuity Guidelines...

$5.00pp per day for Housekeeping Staff ($7.25 if in a GS or above)

$3.75pp per day for Waiter

$2.15pp per day for Assistant Waiter

$0.75pp per day for Head Waiter

$11.65pp per day ($13.90pp per day if booked in a GS or above)

Smoking is allowed on all balconies and on open decks on the Starboard side, I believe. Casino is smoke free on formal nights from what I remember.

A balcony cabin is always nice and is personal preference. Some of the best Junior Suite Cabins that do not have "the pole" are 8596, 8610, 8616, 8090, 8096, 8114, 8110.

When the ship was stretched, new cabins were added. On each deck on the Starboard Side cabins ending in 568-582 and on the Port side, cabins ending in 068-082 have a shower door and newer furniture.
