Carnival Insurance - does it cover strikes?

Does anyone know if Carnival travel insurance would cover needing to cancel/postpone a vacation in the event of a strike at work? If my husband's company's labor union decides to strike, he will not be able to go on vacation. There are no current plans for them to strike, its just the renewal period when we want to cruise and its always a possibility...

If Carnival travel insurance does not cover this, is there independent travel insurance you can purchase?

You would need to read through the exact policy for coverage.

Most that I have read exclude voluntary employment interruption.

Such a strike or quitting.

Involuntary would be being fired or lay-offs.

There is always cancel for any reason but again you have to read the exact policies.

You can check http://www.insuremytrip.com/plans/index.html Just click Compare Plans and enter your state in the pop-up.

I just bought Travel Guard insurance gold plan directly off their website for our May 6, 2012 cruise. The cost for 2 people was $113 and does include strikes. They do have a platinum plan with even more coverage (and cost)
