Carnival Glory or Norwegian Epic

I am deciding upon either the Glory or Epic for my spring break cruise. I have read horrible reviews about Epic, but my fear with Carnival are the enormous amount of children aboard.

Can anyone give me feedback if they have been on board both/either? My husband and I love the specialty restaurants and open dining that Norwegian offers, is that available on Carnival?

How are the adult only areas on both ships?

Are drink prices about the same?

Thanks

Odd because everyone I know who did Epic has come home raving about it. Its different, a step above other NCL cruises. Well worth doing. I have not heard anyone I know who didnt love it.

Glory is Carnival .. typical Carnival. If prices are the same I would do Epic myself, but not if its a lot more $$$.

I dont read reviews I admit, but have had real friends do Epic. People I know.

Glory has just one specialty restaurant, and it serves steaks only, so food selection is obviously more varied on the Epic.

Both Carnival and NCL has open dining.

I did not use the adult area on Carnival (got an infant in tow), and I don't drink so can't comment on the drink prices.

I do not think Carnival has more children than other cruise lines. The client pool for both companies are quite similar, and the number of children will depend on a large part on the price and the time of travel. Being Spring Break, you will find rowdy behavior on either boat.

Not true. Here is the menu for the Steakhouse on Carnival. It is a little outdated as I hear the 24oz Porterhouse is no longer there. http://www.carnival.com/cms/Static_Templates/MyReservation/images/SL_SC_Menu_508.pdf

I originally started to type out the different dishes they have, but realized that the post might get deleted.

If you like entertainment ( Blue man group, Cirque--which is an additional cost, jazz clubs, Legends in Concert, etc etc) you will Love the Epic. Yes, the Epic has its shortcomings, but nothing that rattled my cage.

The bathroom setup is strange, but not a problem. I suggest if you are getting a balcony cabin, that you get a room with the bed by the balcony. Also the balcony cabin is very "skinny", meaning that only one person at a time can pass by the bottom of the bed to get to the door or balcony. The casino is huge, the Big Screen TV in the atrium is awesome to watch movies on and they have popcorn. There is literally no-place to sit out and watch the water, or stroll around, except for the pool deck and above. The Epic is not for everyone, as it is not a "traditional" cruise ship, but I loved it and would go back on her in a hearbeat.

I have also been on the Glory, and loved her also. This is a typical Carnival cruise ship, nightly shows, a deck to stroll around on, plenty of places to look at the water

etc.

Whatever is more your "cup of tea", go for it. You can't go wrong on either.
