Merlinite Posted January 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2012 We are doing a b2b with turn in FLL. I thought that would be a great time for a UBB. Will they offer it, what with all the turmoil? I gather one can't book one until on board?
Loonbeam Posted January 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2012 I'd be very very surprised if they did, given how many of the staff are dedicated to turnaround tasks.
Working 2 Cruise Posted January 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2012 No way no how! pick another day.
Toddy709 Posted January 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2012 They don't even have regular room service on turn-around day, so I'm sure the UBB is out of the question.
fishywood Posted January 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2012 Would you really want to have your UBB on the day when your balcony will be a front row seat for all the sights, sounds and smells of the ship being unloaded, refueled and reprovisoned? They DO have room service for those staying on board. I've personally experienced it!

WarEagle76 Posted January 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2012 They DO have room service for those staying on board. I've personally experienced it! Per the disembarkation information we recieved two weeks ago, at the bottom of meal times it states: Please note Room Service will not be available this morning Since we saw the note above, we didn't put out a room service card the night before nor did we call room service the morning of arrival. Horizon Court was open for buffet breakfast from 4AM-9:30AM, and the Portofino Dining Room was open from 6:15AM-8:30AM The only time we've gotten room service on disembarkation day and ordered the night before is when we've been in a suite. On our last cruise the room steward told us to ignore the "no room service" direction. He said because we were staying on board it didn't apply to us. So we either filled out the card he gave us or called the next morning (can't remember which). Maybe the result of a generous tip - maybe just ship policy. I just know we were pleasantly surprised. caribill Posted January 21, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 21, 2012 So this means we don't have to disembark to clear immigration? That would be nice! If this is a US port, you will still have to clear immigration, either when you disembark for a tour/sightseeing or as part of a group of those who otherwise would not be getting off of the ship. DShock Posted January 21, 2012 #12 Share Posted January 21, 2012 We do b2b's often and will be doing one on the Crown in March. You can always get room service on turn around day. Your options; ask for the card you place on your door, call the night before and place your order, or call that morning. I've never had an issue on Princess. As far as getting off the ship on turn around day it depends. We've done b2b's where we meet with immigration in one of the lounges...that will depend on the number of people doing b2b's. But we've also done b2b's where we go (get off) as a group (those not doing a FLL tour) go thru immigration, and reboard as a group. Either way no big deal...at least we are not going home!
