cb at sea Posted January 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Can't help with the wifi, but the cost is $.65 per min.....less if you buy a "package" of mins....the connecting isn't what you're used to at home...very slow, no matter if you are using your computer or theirs. If you plan on downloading photos, then bring your laptop....do you require internet to do that???? (Computer idiot here!!)....otherwise, to just check e-mail once in a while, you can always find a vacant computer on the ship.
cruisenfever Posted January 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2012 I do not believe that Mariner currently has WiFi in any of the cabins as that might be one of the enhancements being added when she goes into dry dock in 2013-2014. We always take our laptop with us because just ask any crew/staff member onboard and they will tell you where to get WiFi in any port. If you take your laptop, you still need to sign in and create an account at any one of the computers on board by swiping your SeaPass Card and establishing a user name and ID. Internet is 65 cents a minute or you can purchase a package listed below. Pre-Paid Internet Packages: $ 35 = 60 minutes or 58 cents a minute $ 55 = 100 minutes or 55 cents a minute $ 75 = 150 minutes or 50 cents a minute $100 = 250 minutes or 40 cents a minute $150 = 500 minutes or 30 cents a minute
Rare silentbob007 Posted January 28, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2012 If your cabin is close enough to one of their hotspots (ie, public rooms with connectivity), then you may be able to get wifi in the cabin. It just depends and you probably wouldn't know for sure until you got there and tried it. I remember once needing to book a flight on the Majesty and actually laying on the floor in my cabin, with my iPad right next to the door, to get a signal. ;)
