So Confused About Atlantis Day Pass

I've been reading the threads and one moment I think I understand what I'm going to do but then I get lost again.

One if the reasons why I selected our itinerary, RCL Monarch 5/4-7, is because DH has always wanted to go to Atlantis. Thus we need the all access day pass. We're due there at noon and depart at midnight.

So please tell me where I should get the all access pass from at the best price, how do we exit the ship (not sure if we have to tender or not) as early as possible and how do we get there, and when should we pack up to get back on the ship and how to we get back?

Sorry one thread I read said something about transportation leaving at 6pm and this added to the confusion.

Thanks

Hi, I think maybe you are going on the Mediterranean cruise with us in a few weeks, but I was looking for info on the Bahamas cruise I just booked for March. Did you do the ship's excursion to Atlantis? I thought it seemed expensive (164?) I saw that we could buy a pass from the hotel. did you do this? I was wondering if that was the way to go, or do we risk them not issuing any more passes when we get there? It seems like we could get a taxi for cheaper than the cruise trans. Would appreciate your input. Thanks.

There is a ton of information in this thread. Basically, you can book through the cruise (usually the most expensive), buy at Atlantis (but might be shut out), buy through a travel agency (name is somewhere in this thread), or book at room at Comfort Suites (which may or may not be cheaper that buying at hotel - lots of extra fees).

Yes, it's spring break. Last year they restricted access during spring break.. the property was mobbed.

That is probably already answered... We are going to be in Nassau from 7am -2pm on March 3rd and have hubby and I have decided to just do the basic tour of Atlantis. It seems that by the time we actaully get there it will be 8 or 830 and have to be back on ship by 2 so it wouldnt make any sense moneywise or timewise to even try to do more there. Is this considered spring break? and what is best way to buy the pass/excursion?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Atlantis has 3 levels of passes.

DIGS aquarium pass which does NOT include the property, pools, gardens, lagoons etc is $45.

Beach Pass, which included the main beach and DIGS,, but not the pools, slides etc. This is $80pp.

Waterpark -- Includes DIGS, main beach waterpark pools (except those for COVE and REEF guests only.

The tour you are thinking about is the Discover Atlantis.. which is a general tour of the grounds, (not the waterpark) and sealife as well as access to the aquarium. This is offered by the cruiseship.

I have not seen this as part of the offerings directly from Atlantis.

As far as your date.. Yes it's spring break, which starts the week of Feb 22 this year. Atlantis sometimes blacks out these days for day pass sales.

No way to tell til you get there.

If you want guaranteed entry, cruise tour is your best bet.

Others have post about this. The way it works is, your room will be ready at 3pm but they will give you the passes early in the morning. You just have to ask for them at the front desk. You just can't use the room yet.

Also, read the fine prints. Apparently there are some surcharges and extra cost on this hotels. Sometimes is still worth it but sometimes it isn't.

The two times I showed up my room was ready at 930. I dropped my stuff off right away. No issues

Instead got back and rented a room again in comfort suites. It was another successful trip. Room was ready wheni arrived at 10:30am. Used the water parks all day and cleaned up inthe room. Then had dinner at olives in Atlantis. Got back to the ship at 11pm.

Not a whole lot without paying for a pass. Non-guests are allowed to use the casino and the few shops in the old tower. Otherwise, security will not let you into the lobby and certainly not on the resort grounds.

There is NO experience inside or outside beyond this.

The marina village (shops and casual dining, pizza, ice cream) is adjacent to the hotel, and open to the public.

Can you get in to go to a restaurant? I thought I would taxi over and have lunch in the restaurant that has windows into the aquarium. Will I be turned away by Security?

The cafe near the aquarium is not open for lunch. It is usually used for special events. Security is stationed at the top of the stairs preventing people without passes to go downstairs to the windows.

Lunch is only served at outdoor venues near the pools etc (for guests and day pass holders only) , or marina village.

For dinner, you'll need a reservation for most places.

We port Nov. 15, 2013 from 12 to 7. My issue is not whether to go....whether it's worth the money is not the issue. I have to take DS to Atlantis at all costs no matter how miserable we, as adults, may become...no matter how long the lines are...we are going.

This is my situation. The Atlantis was aggressively airing ads on TV last winter and my two boys (8 and 10) were spellbound by them. So, no matter how chilly the water, no matter how long the lines, no matter how slanted the beach, no matter ... well, you get the point: we are going!

I have two questions. We will be there on Thanksgiving Day. I assume this will be a peak time? Will it be crazy there?

I went ahead and became a Comfort Choice Privileges member to rent a room for the day, but because we just booked our cruise and this is all very last minute, the rate was not that much lower than our ship's rate (NCL Breakaway), which I already booked. So I guess I'm going to stay with that. I love the idea of ditching the excursion group right after we get our passes, though, and taking a taxi to beat the mob, get a locker and snag some loungers. Thanks to everyone who posted tips and info in this long thread (which I read in its entirety)!

My second question is this: Is there a wait for the lazy river? Because that's all I want to do, and it's probably all my 8-year-old will really want to do (he says different now, but he hasn't seen the slides up close and personal yet)?

Thanks again.

I would assume it will be crazy. When we did the ship's excursion on the Breakaway, we were given our wristbands when we got off the ship (before 9), walked to the buses, and were at Atlantis before 9:30 (before the slides opened). You will want to get a lounge ASAP by the slides. There is a finite amount of tubes for the lazy river, and we rode it as soon as it opened, and there was a small wait for tubes when we got off 20 minutes later.

There are different degrees of slides, and I'm sure your 8 year old will love most of them. There was only I couple I didn't do, and I'm a chicken.

We went last month and the weather was perfect. Not too hot and sunny but still warm for being in the pool. We(husband and I) love water slide and really wanted to do this but were a bit discourage because our kids are 1 and 2 so we were gonna have to take turns to do the waterslides. We took the plunge the day before port day, after our daughter begged us to let her go to the pool (babies can't use the cruise pool). We are sooo glad we did this. We had a blast and our kids had a blast too. One parent stayed with the kids in the splash zone or near the closest shallow pool while the other parent hit all the nearby slides. There were 5 cruises that day but still line were not that awful in my opinion. We both did most slides once, took a look at the aquarium and were back in our cruise by 6pm. There is really no true line in the lazy river is more like grab a float and go, is a bit tricky to grab those floats though. The park is huge so even if is full I still think that you will find something to do and enjoy.

On a side note, in November the park closes at 5pm

Thanks for the responses. I'm actually looking forward to Atlantis! I can deal with lines and hordes of kids. I mean, I did the Nickelodeon cruise with something like 2,000 kids on the Freedom of the Seas and sat in many a hot tub packed with 30 screaming, splashing children. Chilly water is also something I can handle−the water temperature in our local pool's kid area is always set way too low for anyone who isn't constantly thrashing or who has the water only up to the waist. As long as I know my evening will include a tall drink and a hot tub ...

We will be in Nassau Dec 18 onboard the EOS. We will have our two grandkids age 7 and 9 with us. I am thinking that they would love the Aquaventure and the Digs excursion that RCCL is offering. I believe it is $99 adult and $69 for the kids. My concern is that it will be too cool for them to enjoy the waterpark. Anyone have any thoughts on a backup plan if the weather sucks that particular day?

We will be there the same day off of the Sky. Was curious about the same thing. We booked it last night.

Just want to share some information I got from a friend who is vacationing at Atlantis right now. He suggested we all cancel Aquaventure WaterPark if it's $140 for the 4 hours or so time we get. He actually said to cancel even if it's all day. He compared it to Water Country USA in Williamsburg to which we are regular visitors and he said Atlantis is no where as good.

They are enjoying snorkeling tours and walk on beaches, jet skis, and Fish Fry and other local eating places more than anything at Atlantis except the Dolphin Encounter which they 9 year old enjoyed.

does water country have a conver belt at the end of the lazy river? this is the best part of atlantis if you ask me. you can ride the conveyer belt to the top and then float in different directions to go on 2 water coasters or the rapids. they drop you back in the lazy river when done. no standing in lines for these you just float there. so much better than climbing the ever slow moving stairs in the heat.

The ATLANTIS all access (aquaventure) day pass for $120pp/$80kids includes the aquapark, slides, pools, beach and DIGS. It does not include Dolphin Cay or the CAIN pool nor any other paid experience.

The BEACH pass included ONLY the beach and DIGS.. ($70 I think).. it does not include pools, slides, lagoons or any other features.

The DIGS pass $40/30 included the DIGS aquarium and Predator Lagoon only .. it does not allow access to the grounds, gardens, lagoons, pools, slides or beaches.

FYI: I just got an email yesterday from Atlantis saying the The Digs pass is now $45.00 per adult, for anyone that wants to know the newest rate, they said that would be for my Jan 11th day at Atlantis.

I will be there in October, so when you say the waterparks & pools close at 4:30, does that include all the other attractions (the dig & aquarium etc.)?

In october the park still close at 7pm. The park close early only duting the winter months.

I just got an email from Majestic Tours confirming their 2014 day pass rate for the Waterpark is $125 for adults and $80 for children.

Does anyone know if a 16 yr. old is considered an adult or child when purchasing the day pass tickets? I've tried the "chat" on atlantis website, but it's all animated & doesn't give me an answer for this.

When I booked through NCL, my 15 and 17 year olds were adults.
