paul929207 Posted February 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Princess has never gone out of their way to encourage people to eat lunch on the MDR on embarkation day. I doubt it will be open at 2pm.

Red I was under the impression that the MDR was closed, now (new policy) whilst in ports, including embrkation day. I will be quite happy to be wrong! Red Don't count on it. We had a late boarding earlier last year and the MDR was closed. They have to set up for dinner service.
Loonbeam Posted February 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2012 The MDR is only open on boarding day for lunch if boarding coincides with normal lunch schedule or there are a large number of B2Bs. In this case, I doubt it will be open.

Sassy's Mom Posted February 4, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2012 If today's embarking schedule for the Crown is any indication, plan on eating at or before you arrive at the Convocation Center. They were delayed from 12 to 2, 2 to 4, 4 to 6 and now 6 to 10 p.m. I'd say eat something before reporting to port/convo center so you aren't relying on purchasing the $8 burgers they are selling. spingal Posted February 4, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2012 Unfortunately lunch will not be served in the MDR. We sailed on the Crown in December and our boarding was delayed until 2:30. Horizon Court, the Trident Grill, pizzeria and the IC were open but not the MDR.
