Rare island lady Posted February 8, 2012 #26 Share Posted February 8, 2012 I don't remember the food being first rate or awful. I do remember not going hungry... that is for sure. Most of the time we never even ordered dessert (too full). We had MTD and had superior service...I do remember that!! :) Guess we don't cruise for the food....but simply for the fun and adventure. ;) Our last Freedoom cruise was one of the best ever. Can't wait to go again later this year!!
CrusieToy Posted February 8, 2012 #27 Share Posted February 8, 2012 We were on FOS in August and I also liked eating in WJ and not the MDR. The Clam Chowder tasted like they opened a can of Campells Soup. I switched it out. The Prime Rib, Lobster just didnt send me over the edge but I did love the sushi, salad bar and desserts in the WJ. On our first few RC cruises we ended up liking the WJ more than the MDR so on our last RC cruise we didn't even bother trying it went right to the WJ
PhoenixDawgCruising Posted February 8, 2012 #28 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Wow, seems like not much has changed since my review LAST year around this time. The only real negative thing I had to say about Freedom was about the food, but it was a really big negative!!! I will be on Oasis next month, hoping for MUCH BETTER CHOW!:)
80 Wolfpacker Posted February 10, 2012 #29 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I lost two pounds when I was on the Freedom of the Seas on my Jan. 22nd cruise. That says a lot! The food on that ship was VERY bad by Royal Caribbean standards. I cruise a lot and I know that Royal Caribbean can have excellent food in both the dining room and the Windjammer. I have never seen such poor attention to cleanliness, food quality, and staff training/manners/enthusiasm on any other ship. The Freedom seems to have serious dining services management problems!
