Is Carnival Now Charging the Fuel Supplement

GradUT

I'm leaving soon on a Carnival cruise and was going over the contract tonight as I checked in. It states that they may charge, without prior notice, a fuel supplement fee of $9 per person per day when the price of light sweet crude oil exceeds $70.00 per barrel. Today's price is a little over $90 per barrel, so I was wondering if this fee is currently being charged.

Thanks.

its been about 3-4 years (or longer) that they last charged for fuel...So far, cruise lines has stated they have no started charging for fuel. However, i think some cruise lines has gotten smart and include part of the fuel surcharge into the base rate

a couple os days ago, a pop up ad came up on some internet page i was browsing, and all it sad was "carnival", the logo, and something to the effect that a $9 fuel charge may be charged....yada yada yada.

nothing else. no ships, no destinations, no prices. just the carnival name, and the reference to fuel charges.
