What time to arrive at San Diego Cruise Terminal?

We are sailing out of San Diego on March 2. We have a shuttle from the hotel and just want to know what time we should arrive. I know the shuttle will decide our arrival, but if there is an earlier/later choice, which would you pick?

No use getting there before 11 or 11:30, as most cruise lines won't let you start to board before then.

If you get to the port before 11/11:30, there will probably be a line waiting to get in to the building.

Thanks! We've only ever cruised out of Long Beach and if you've been there, you know what a mess boarding is.

We arrived @ 10:45 am and the line was just starting. When let in @ just after 11, it was a bit unorganized, but still was onboard within half hr.
