mabkcruisers Posted February 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Does anyone know of a good company to use for airport transfers from LGA to the Port of New York? Cruise transfers were really expensive for this trip!
njhorseman Posted February 11, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2012 You can just take a taxi...no reservations necessary...fare about $30-35 plus tip. If you want to reserve transportation in advance, Dial 7 is a car service with a good reputation. http://www.dial7.com . Cost will be about the same as a taxi. Cruise transfers were really expensive for this trip! a new york city yellow cab(always waiting at LGA) will cost about $30-5 per cab(for up to 4 people). A car service will cost about the same. see http://www.carmellimo.com as an example...
Rare Hlitner Posted February 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Try reposting this question on the Ports/United States/East Coast Departures board. You will also find previous posts with related info on that board. Hank
njhorseman Posted February 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Try reposting this question on the Ports/United States/East Coast Departures board. You will also find previous posts with related info on that board. Hank No need to repost anywhere. Two native New Yorkers who are thoroughly familiar with the available transportation options have already answered. We're the same people who would have answered the question if it had been posted on East Coast Departures.
bob brown Posted February 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2012 When you say 'Port of New York', if you mean the Manhattan or Brooklyn cruise terminals, I would concur that using a metered 'yellow' taxi is good. If however you mean Cape Liberty, located in Bayonne, NJ....that is another matter. In that case using a non-metered car service will probably cost less, if coming from LGA or JFK. Better to use EWR in that case if you can.

bob brown Posted February 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2012 The question posted was about LGA and the Manhattan cruise terminal... You're right. I just wanted to expand a bit on advice. All three ports are considered to be in 'The Port of New York'......
mabkcruisers Posted February 11, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks for the help! We will be traveling with extended family, so there are 6 of us total. Even if we need 2 taxis it is still much cheaper than the cruise transfers.
