Oarsman55 Posted February 21, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2012 We're thinking of booking one of these and see that the cabin size varies between grades. Is it just the balcony size that differs or the cabin as well and does anyone know (or have a link to a website showing it) which cabins and/or balconies are the largest? The only larger ones I can work out from the deckplans are the two forward, 5001 and 5002. Cheers. Peter

There's a couple of wheelchair accessible P-3. These would be the largest. We had a wheelchair A-1. We didn't need it, but our TA booked it, saying there's a lot more room. We had the chance to upgrade to a P-1 & turned it down as the room was actually smaller. The P suites on QV/QE are long & narrow. The fact that the showerheads in Wheelchair rooms are "removable"(like on QM2)doesn't hurt, either. I much preferred the Princess suites on QM2. laktex Posted February 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2012 5001/2 are 377 sq ft compared to around 345 for the midships. http://www.deluxecruises.com/cunard/queen_victoria/Cunard_QV_Deck_Plans_and_All_Accommodations.pdf may help.
Lynnewob Posted February 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2012 You are correct, the larger ones are those forward on deck 5. The remainder of the P grades are midships and obviously, for wheelchair access, there are some cabins allocated to disabled passengers which are larger. The balconies on deck 4 jut out a little bit more than those above, giving you slightly more space on the balcony but beware you tend to be seen more from those above whilst sitting out. I like the PG suites on QV & QE, but Steve prefers those on QM2. 5001&2 are lovely, huge & square & you can see were your going! There is a lovely window looking forward :D

There is a lovely window looking forward :D Yes, keeping an eye on those. Thanks to all who helped - booked P4 guarantee at excellent price a couple of days ago and already been upgraded to P1 (the usual "upgrade" of same cabin/stateroom/suite, just higher up:D). Wonder if they'd like to bung us in 5001 or 5002 as they're still available. cinta - if it's the same Thornbury, unfortunately we've now heard of it after the recent sad events.
